Top Five Drunken Irish Shots
Mar 2014 15

It’s that time of year again – dancing leprechauns in the four leaf clover patch, rainbows leading to pots of gold and the fresh scent of Irish Spring is in the air. As we all know March 17th is St. Patty’s Day which marks the unofficial start of spring, celebrate it today – Peacock Style!

Shots will inevitably be a part of each and every one of our St. Patty’s festivities. We all know that many of these will be Irish Car Bombs, just by default. That’s fine as this is our #1 rated shot for St. Patty’s Day 2014 because they really are delicious, festive and we can help you take it up a notch (see recipe below).

Below are the Top 5 Irish Shots for St. Patty’s this year, they will be sure to help ya find yer pretty lil leprechaun and pot o’ gold:

Irish Car Bomb (Peacocked)

  • ¾ pint Guinness Stout
  • ½ oz. Bailey’s Irish Cream
  • ½ oz. Tullamore Dew Irish whiskey (some bars skip this!!)
  • Splash Crème de Menthe (to peacock it)

Layer the Bailey’s and the Tullamore Dew (it is smoother than Jameson) in that order in a shot glass, add a splash of Crème de Menthe (you could use Grand Marnier also). Pour the Guinness into a pint glass and let settle. Drop the shot glass into the Guinness and chug as fast as humanly possible. You can’t lose with a C-Bomb on St. Patty’s, especially if it’s Peacocked.

Give a drunken Irish toast with this one: “MEN, start your livers!”

Girl Scout Cookie

  • 3/4 oz. Bailey’s Irish Cream
  • 1/2 oz. Godiva White Chocolate Liqueur
  • 1/4 oz. Creme de Menthe liqueur

Everyone love’s Girl Scout Cookies and the mint chocolate ones are my favorite. Layer the liquor in equal parts in a shot glass in the order above.

  • 2 oz. Midori Melon Liqueur
  • 1/2 oz. Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey
  • 1/2 oz. Bailey’s Irish Cream

Pour all of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake well. Strain into a shot glass to serve. This is a little sweet, but creamy sweet .

Irish Flag

  • 1 oz. Creme de Menthe (green)
  • 1 oz. Bailey’s Irish Cream
  • 1 oz. Grand Marnier (or even Butterscotch Schnapps)

Layer in equal parts in a shot glass in order. Tastes as good as it looks but is more about the cool and festive presentation.

Give another funny Irish toast when doing this one: “Here’s to you and here’s to me, And here’s to all the girls that lick us where we pee!”

Irish Maul Axe

  • 1/4 oz. Jim Beam Bourbon Whiskey
  • 1/4 oz. Bushmills Irish Whiskey
  • 1/4 oz. Irish Mist Liqueur
  • 1/4 oz. Jameson Irish Whiskey

Shake with ice and strain into a shot glass. This one is strong!
