Peacock Summer Movie Preview Guide: The Avengers
Apr 2012 25

As we mentioned in the first of our Peacock Summer Movie Preview articles, this summer is getting started early and it will launch with everyone’s attention on The Avengers. Let’s take a quick look as to how this movie is Peacocking its way to the front of the line on the blockbuster summer movie list…

For starters feast your eyes on some of the heavy-hitting cast:

  • Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) as Ironman – Ironman & Ironman 2 made a combined $600+ million domestic.
  • Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) as Captain America – Two of last summer’s blockbuster super heroes.
  • Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) as Black Widow – ScarJo is f’ing hot and is even sexier when kicking ass on screen in tight latex clothing.
  • Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson) – The only thing I think about about when S-Jax is mentioned in a movie is this classic line.
  • Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) as Hawkeye – This will certainly spin off into a movie of its own if Renner goes full Peacock and steals the show.
  • Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) as The Hulk – I know, I know, the first two Hulks sucked out loud, but I have a feeling the 3rd time is the charm.

If that’s not enough, the whole thing is put together by Joss Whedon who “grew up wanting to make” this movie. I’m not saying that all superhero movies are Peacock, and truth be told there have been some serious busts (you know what I mean if you saw Green Hornet). However, when a studio convinces all these actors/actresses along with this type of director to smash seven heroes into one action packed summer blockbuster, then that is definitely Peacock. Plus, if it cracks $100 million in its opening weekend May 3rd-6th, the executives at Paramount will have plenty of money to blow on these as they Peacock all over Hollywood.

Now check out below what you have in store for you when you plop down in that theater seat for some Avengers action…And check back next week for the only other movie that matters this summer…The Dark Night Rises.
