The Gumball 3000 is the world’s most extreme motor rally event which takes place on public roads all over the globe. It’s all about the superstars with supercars, pass the screening process and you too can join them for a trip you’ll never forget. Actors, musicians, extreme sport athletes, fashion designers can go anywhere they choose and they all recognize the prestigious Gumball as the ultimate four wheel adventure – definitely a Peacock worthy phenomenon.
The concept is basic – 7 days, 3000 miles and 150 cars, and partying in exclusive VIP venues every step of the way. This event is a worldwide traveling road rally filled with a dizzying array exotic supercars that have traveled to cities like London, Bilbao, Dubai, Athens, Saint Petersburg, Amsterdam, Boston, Toronto, New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Warsaw, Vienna, Monaco, and Istanbul to name a few. Lamborghini, Porsche, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Bentley, Rolls Royce, Koenigsegg and many other exotic rides add to the insanity.
Gumball 3000 differs from typical road rallies, not because of its ‘star’ power or exotic route locales, but because it’s not about racing since there are no prizes for first place, instead it’s all about the epic journey. The event has morphed into a successful mechanism for promoting lifestyle, cars, fashion, and travel to be accessed by anyone the rally connects with. In fact, the team that shows the best attitude in the spirit of the Gumball gets the main prize which varies each year. In 2014 the main prize will be a professionally customized show car.
Some of the past participants, many of whom have completed multiple Gumball’s are Johnny Knoxville, David Hasselhoff, Billy Zane, Kate Moss, Snoop Dogg, Tyson Beckford, David Guetta, Tony Hawk (5 time participant), Rob Dyrdek, The Dudesons, Adrien Brody, Bam Margera, Ryan Dunn, Travis Barker, Xzibit, Eve, Dennis Rodman, Kylie Minogue, Jamiroquai, Travis Pastrana, and Carey Hart.
It’s not cheap to enter, but sometimes Peacocking out of your mind isn’t either. For two people and one car to enter, the entry fee is roughly $67,000 U.S. dollars. This includes luxury hotel accommodation with food, check points, vehicle air frieght transportation, and entry to the VIP Gumball parties. So grab a wingman, prep your Lambo and get ready for the trip of a lifetime; exotic supercars and mingling with superstars while poppin’ bottles – the ultimate international event. The 2014 rally starts June 5th in Miami and finishes June 11th in Ibiza, see the complete schedule.
