The Lamborghini Murciélago SV (SuperVeloce) is the final incarnation of the big Lambo. The inherently deadly Murciélago just got upgraded, and the results are even more lethal. At the time of its production it was the fastest Lamborghini ever made.
As usual the upgrade means more power and less weight. Featuring an upgraded 670 hp from its trademark V12 engine which will be retired along with the Murciélago badge. Lighter exhaust, a carbon fiber infusion throughout the workings of the car and no radio make it 220 lbs lighter than the standard model. What does all this mean? Road & Track Magazine clocked it’s 0 to 60 time at 2.8 seconds and a 1/4 mile time of 10.9 seconds @ 129.4 mph. Top speed is a scorching 212 mph.
As expected, the price for this lunacy too much for the average person, $421,200, well above average median home. 350 were slated to be made, but only 186 were finished, production had to stop at the factory to make room for its successor – the Aventador.
No matter what, the SuperVeloce will be remembered as not only a lethally fast supercar, but for better or worse it will mark the transition of Lamborghini – from unstable and unpredictable to corporate and refined. Visit this site and learn more about the Lamborghini Murciélago SV.
